CENTER CHURCH of welcome

I was approached by Center Church of Welcome to redesign the church brand. They discarded the “United” for the Methodist affiliation and needed everything redesigned.

A “centered” balance for center church of welcome, NC

Center Church of Welcome needed new branding for their building, parking lot, buses and signage. It was requested to have blue and red added to the final design; representing fire and water, and of course, needed to convey the idea of a meeting place for Christian believers. They also loved the idea of a cross, representing Jesus. The word ‘Center’ being in their name already, helped encourage the visual display of a cross to be the “center” of the graphic.

BRAND DEVELOPMENT

Ideas were presented to stimulate a direction to start the design. The stipulations for what they were looking for included direction to stay away from flames (portraying the Methodist affiliation) and they wanted something that was a good representation of the future, easily recognizable and was also simple. In addition, the graphic needed to be able translate well into a single color for a car window decal. They included visuals when they specified what they did like, which were the Bible, a cross, 2 C’s, a tree and a peace fish. By round 3, the graphic was finalized and color was added to make it complete.

EXTENDED Branding

To show the application of their new identity, a brand board was developed to help the visualization. This way, the printers could produce signage to our projected concept.

Multiple variations of the new identity and file types of each (vector, jpg, pdf) were included in their package; standard, horizontal, vertical and stacked versions, along with color variants of each: gradation, solid color and black and white. The digital version of the emblem only that can stand alone when needed, completed the graphic package of files for Center Church.
